We Need Revelation
I had a thought last night to put into perspective. If I wanted to fix the kitchen sink that was clogged I would probably pump some drain cleaner into it. I don't know if that would fix it or not, but my best bet assumes that it would. I'm not a plumber or a builder so I really have no understanding about the piping. For me to understand what was going wrong, I would have to examine the pipe and try a few different approaches before I knew what the cure to the clog was.
In perspective, if I wanted to fix [something-in-life] I would probably look for solutions by to occupying my mind to think about the problem less and see what some internet studies and opinions say on it. I don't know if it would fix my problem, but I assume that it would since the information I collected seem good enough. The problem usually has to do with the heart because out of the heart come the issues of life. I don't know much about the heart. Afterall, the heart is deceitful above all things, who can understand it? If I don't examine my heart I probably won't know whats causing the blockage for the river of living waters to flow. Since I have no understanding or knowledge about the heart, I can't mess with it to try and solve it because sometimes we cause more damage by doing things wrecklessly.
Back to the clogged sink; I don't want a manual from a foreign manufacturer with hard to read instructions and missing parts. I want the original manual from the original manufacturers because they made the sink and they would have the perfect parts and accurate instruction I need.
Back to the heart; I don't want a therapists evaluation on my heart from instruction by mans wisdom, their best answer is to put me on an anti-depressent that I wouldn't have needed. I want the original instructions to the heart by the author, which is the Bible.
The problem is that sometimes that in an instruction book you can't figure out how to screw something in because the author assumed it's common sense, maybe they just leave things out, or we aren't the brightest. My point is, when we read the Bible and sometimes it feels like none of it applies to us and we keep reading around the same things but not figuring it out is because we desperately need to be shown the missing part.
In Matthew 16:15-18 It talks about Peters confession, where Jesus builds His spiritual church on the rock of Peters confession. In verse 17: Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven." Before Jesus got the answer He was looking for He got four wrong answers! And the right one was revealed to Peter by God.
The smallest of answers that seem to be inbetween the lines come through revelation from the Holy Spirit of God, who lives inside of you. The Holy Spirit who is in fact the teacher who will teach you all things. We don't get a revelation by knowledge, we get it from the teacher! It says in Isaiah 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. Don't be discouraged, when revelation comes it may seem little but thats the course God takes us in, little by little, precept upon precept. The little revelations should be treasured as much as the big ones, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation! So make sure you have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit evident by speaking in new tongues, He is the only one who can lead you into revelation and a Holy life!
